A propos de cet article
Locus Publications, Oakland, CA, USA. Featuring book reviews, convention reports, interviews, lists of forthcoming American and British books, people & publishing news, photos, adverts, letters and more. Columns include Fritz Leiber's MOONS & STARS & STUFF, Richard Curtis' AGENT'S CORNER, STAYIN' ALIVE by Norman Spinrad and Amy Thomson on short fiction (depending on year of publications, as the earlier issues of Locus may not feature these columns). Most copies are in FINE OR BETTER condition, though the occasional one may be about fine or near fine. Some - but very few - copies may have titles in the forthcoming books section marked with a highlighter. PLEASE NOTE: Postage to destinations outside the UK is higher than quoted. Also note that the early issues of Locus were mailed to its UK recipient and, therefore, carry an address label and a UK postage stamp. =============== Gore Vidal's "Kalki" is nominated for a World Fantasy Award. Frank Herbert's "Dune" will become a movie. Algis Budrys writes "On writing", Dennis Dobson and Edmund Crispin pass on. Brian Aldiss offers appreciation of Edmund Crispin. Fritz Leiber reviews Stephen King's "The Shining" and "The wicker man (Hardy & Shaffer) and Arthur C Clarke paints "The view from Sri Lanka". William Rotsler comments "On serendipity" and Dennis Dobson, publisher and editor of Dobson books - alongside Gollancz the only prolific publisher of hardcover sf back in the day - says goodbye and ad astra. Reports from various conventions show a dapper Brian Aldiss, a ponytailed Spider Robinson, a bearded Barry Longyear and a sunglasstastic Gregory Benford. Letters from Orson Scott Card, Michael Bishop and others and news that Harlan Ellison has sold "The final dangerous visions" and GRR Martin & Lisa Tuttle sold "Windhaven". Two fine copies, one about fine one.
