Altogether the portfolio contains four hundred and fifty architectural motifs, on seventy nine plates, reproduced in heliogravure, including churches in Couzon, Bully, Nandax, Regny, Lyon, Neulise, Régny, Thizy, N. D. de la Roche, Ars-sur-Formans, Coublevie, N. D. des Dombes, La Louvesc, Marseille, Fourviere, and Valence. Includes some designs for tombs and the final five plates contain decorative details (Croquis) relating to ecclesiastical architecture as well as holy objects used in mass. Pierre Bossan (1814 Lyon 1888 La Ciotat) was a French architect, a pupil of Henri Labrouste, specializing in ecclesiastical architecture. Appointed to the diocese of Lyon his major project there was the basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourviere, overlooking Lyon. Other designs of his were Lyon's Eglise Saint-Georges, churches at Régny, Neulise and Couzon-au-Mont-d'Or, as well as the pilgrimage basilica of La Louvesc. Text in French.
