This copy has never been read, the pages are tight and many are unopened (i.e with leaves still uncut as issued) . [CONDITION: Top edge of page block slightly dusty else an astonishingly a well preserved very clean and bright AS NEW unread and unmarked copy (paper spine label very slightly tanned but there is a new spare label tipped in at the rear, as issued). Inscribed by the editor, R.W. Chapman, in pencil on the flyleaf: 'JHAS [John Hanbury Angus Sparrow], from RWC, 1946'. The recipient's bookplate, a design by Reynolds Stone, is on the facing pastedown.
