Small 4to. Hardcover. Pp. 546. First Edition. In very good condition. Professionally rebound with half-leather over marbled boards, with marbled end-paper and fore-edge. Gilt title on spine. Slight shelf-wear with some rubbing at the corners and light wear along the edges. Faint scuffs and marks, and leather lightly torn at the back. Pages themselves are clean and unmarked with light foxing and faint watermarks. Ex-library copy with library bookplate on front end-paper and small stamp at the bottom of the title page. Some marks on rear end-paper from where library sticker was presumably removed. Complete with 16 lithographs and a fold-out map, however note that Plate 9 is misplaced and appears on p. 96 as oppose to p. 381 as listed on the content page. Fold-out map at the rear in good condition. Karl John Andersson was a Swedish explorer, hunter and trader as well as an amateur naturalist and ornithologist.
