A propos de cet article

The first edition of a revealing collection of correspondence and thoughts from the Romantic genius, collected and edited by his 'favourite disciple'. Coleridge, a collection of personal correspondence from the prolific Romantic poet, edited by 'his favourite disciple' and political radical Thomas Allsop. Published in 1836, two years after the poet's death. In contemporary half green calf, with marble boards. Contains contemporary end papers. Bound without half-titles when compared with copies held by the Hathi Trust. Contains the bookplates of James Gay to the the front pastedowns. believed to be the British-Canadian eccentric who would later coin himself 'Poet Laureate of Canada'. Contains contemporary end papers. Bound without half-titles when compared with copies held by the Hathi Trust. Externally, fading patches and faint grazes to boards, a heavier scratch to rear board of II. Heavy knocks to the extremities. Wear to spine labels with slight loss, and rubbing marks to spines and to extremities. Very light cracking to joints but firm. Light spotting to extremities of end papers, heavier to rear end papers of II. Gay's bookplates to front pastedowns with faint offsetting to front free end papers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are mostly bright and clean, with faint spots to immediate first and final leaves, and minor age toning to leaf extremities. Good.…
