Blind, double-ruling around board edges. Gilt lettering and graphics on spine. Board panels are scuffed as is spine lettering and graphics - difficult to read. Edges at head and tail of board spine are split and fraying; back corner at head of spine has loss of 3/8"; back corner at tail of spine has a 5/8" split up the back spine fold. Front fold of spine has an open tear of 3/4" by 1/4" near the lower end; back fold of spine has two small chips of 1/8" and 3/16". Fore-edge corners and adjacent edges are rubbed through, as are edges adjacent to tail of spine. External page edges are age- and soil-darkened and also with some foxing. Owner's bookplate and misc. penciled notes on front end papers. Foxing and other stains through-out text. Back end-papers are grubby. Back inside hinged is partially cracked but holding.
