1875 1ed David Livingstone Life & Labors AFRICA Missionary Illustrated Chambliss “If you have men who will only come if they know there is a good road, I don't want them. I want men who will come if there is no road at all.” – David Livingstone David Livingstone was a Scottish medical missionary with the London Missionary Society, an explorer in Africa, and one of the most popular British heroes of the late-19th-century in the Victorian era. Henry Stanley was a Welsh-American journalist and explorer who was famous for his exploration of central Africa and his search for Dr. Livingstone. Upon finding Livingstone, Stanley reportedly asked, "Dr. Livingstone, I presume?" This 1875 first Chambliss edition of ‘Life and Labors of David Livingstone’ is a fine work on the missionary’s career with views of native African people, animals, landscapes, and events during his ministry.
