The binding is worn and unevenly faded with pale spots or stains, especially on the back cover. Spine is a bit sunned. There is a spot of fraying on the front hinge. Inner hinges secure. Outside edges of the text block are foxed. The endpapers are toned. The text has some occasional foxing. Illustrated with a frontis and three other plates. General Richard H. Anderson (1821-1879) was born in Sumter County, South Carolina. He attained distinction in the Mexican American War in the U.S. Army but joined the Confederate Army during the Civil War. Description de la boutique

Pages Past is a small used and antiquarian bookshop holding 10,000-15,000 volumes. We are located a few blocks from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Most of our books are hardback, although we have a few bookcases of paperbacks with recent fiction and classic literature represented. We also have a fairly good collection of Eastern Philosophy & Religion (Buddhism, Taoism, Hinduism) as well as New Age. Most of these are recent paperbacks in nice condition. We have a good collection of antiquarian books in the fields of Americana, old leather bound books, and early religious and scholarly books. Shop hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. We're closed on Sundays. We are always interested in buying quality books in very good condition.…
