A propos de cet article

(Nightstand Book NB 1551 aSn). New York City, Manhattan setting. Juvenile Delinquent JD themes. Rubbing and several long creases to cover. Some speckling and mottling to spine (and fainter to cover). Spine sun faded. Some dog-earred and broken page corners. Cover copy: ON THE PROWL. That was Johnny Wells, a child of the gutters, a product of the slum tenements. A good-looking boy who was part man, part animal and 100\% good in a girl's arms. And that was Johnny's kick. His other buddies, the hungry ones who roamed Manhattan's Juvenile Jungle, had their ways of making the scene. Ricky who fished guys at the pool table; Beans, who stole and fenced the goods; Long Sam, who was more muscle than brain but needed nothing else as a teen-aged mugger - but with Johnny's good looks and the personality of a satyr, it had to be women. They wanted him, and he was ready to let them have what they wanted, for a price. So seventeen-year-old Johnny Wells embarked on a new life: a big front, lots of folding money, and a hundred different women. But no life as rotten as Johnny's could hope to escape THE WAGES OF SIN! First paragraph(s): THE SEVENTH AVENUE IRL PULLED INTO the 96th Street station with a metallic screech. The doors opened. Six passengers left the third car from the front and made their way to the stairwell that would take them to the street. There were two ladies in their fifties. One had a red bandana over her head and carried a black patent leather purse. The other was bareheaded and a shopping bag dangled from her left hand. There was a middle-aged man, small and featureless, who looked like an accountant. He carried a nine-by-twelve manila envelope under one arm. Paperback Original. Size: 4.25" x 6.4". 190 pages. Text unmarked. Binding/spine is cocked but solid. Some age-toning to page edges. Nightstand Book NB 1551 aSn Illustrator: Harold W. McCauley. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 12 oz.
