A propos de cet article

This is a near perfect first edition published by Funk & Wagnalis Company in 1964. Brown and tan linen cover with brown lettering on the spine. Comes with a very good condition dust jacket. It is a record of the 1948 expedition to the Amne Machin mountain region in northeastern Tibet. Includes meeting with the Tibetan Panchen Lama. 368 pages with no markings except an owner mark on the inside cover first page (photographed) and across the page edging. Binding is solid. Dust jacket is in very good condition and protected in foil. Numerous photographs, illustrations, and maps. Please review the photos as they form an important part of the description. The current owner, anthropologist and writer Don Messerschmidt, PhD, is known for his research and writings on the Himalayas and related topics. Along the way, he amassed an extensive library of Himalayan studies and has written several of his own, including two prize-winners. He has also been an editor for two regional magazines and has been called upon to review and pen chapters and forewords for Himalayan-oriented publications.…
