A propos de cet article

First Edition (1994), so stated. First Printing indicated by a complete numerical sequence. Very Good+ in Near Fine DJ: The Book shows a few small very faint soilings to the top and bottom edges of the text block and a few flecks of foxing to the deckle fore-edge; just a touch of crimp to the heel of the backstrip; else flawless; the binding is square and secure; the text is clean. Free of any creased or dog-eared pages in the text. Free of any underlining, hi-lighting or marginalia or marks in the text. Free of any ownership names, dates, addresses, notations, inscriptions, stamps, plates, or labels. A handsome copy, structurally sound and tighly bound, showing minor, unobtrusive imperfections. Bright and clean. Corners sharp. Close to 'As New'. The DJ shows a small, very mild patch of rubbing where it appears a price sticker has been removed near the upper edge of the front panel; else flawless; the price is unclipped. Very close to 'As New'. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. 8vo. (9.5 x 6.5 x 1 inches). 288 pages. Yiddish Glossary. Language: English. Weight: 21 ounces. Family-portrait-decorated end papers. Deckle fore-edge. Hardback with DJ. Mercy of a Rude Stream tells the story of Ira Stigman, an immigrant boy, suffers a cruel Americanization process from 1914 through 1921 in a novel that deals with themes of Prohibition, anti-Semitism, racism, and the violence of sexuality. The title comes from a Shakespearean quotation which characterizes life as a 'tumultuous rude stream'. First Edition (1994), so stated. First Printing indicated by a complete numerical sequence.…
