Hardcover. Etat : Good. Etat de la jaquette : No Dust Jacket. Two volume set. Hardcover; in green pebbled cloth. There is one plate (Fort Sumter), and one map (Charleston) in V2. Rubbing, light wear at the spine extremities and corner tips. Some surface rubbing. Some light opaque discoloration to the front board cloth of V1. The gilt lettering is fairly bright. The front hinge of V2 is cracked; and the rear hinges of both volumes have been repaired; but the binding are still solid. The page edges are age-darkened. There is a 2" closed-tear, and a 1/2" taped closed-tear on the front flyleaf of V1. There is a previous owners inkstamp on the first blank of each volume. A bit of light smudging on the prelim pages of each volume. There is a dampstain in the fore-edge margin of the last couple of page and the rear pastedown of V1; in the margin only, not affecting text. Small chip at the bottom corner of the rear flyleaf of each volume. Else pages clean.
