A propos de cet article

323, 6 (glossary), 15 (index), 2, (errata), 2 (ads.) 1735. First edition. First Edition 1735, nine copper engraved plates and a heraldic crest on the dedication page. Woodcut decorated initials - heads and tailpieces. Bound in original paper-covered boards. The spine-strip now entirely missing. A custom made clamshell box in blue buckram - gilt embossed to the spine now houses the book - so the book itself remains in very original condition. No endpapers or half-title page. A former owner's neat ink name and place inscription to the head of the title page : 'Robert Edwin Lyne Risely Bedfordshire'. An ink marginal inscription to the tail of page 80 in a neat early hand, 'one paris cubic foot is equal to nine gallons/English/Nine measure.' Light loss to the lower corner of plate vi. - no loss of printed image. A stain with tide-mark to the lower margin of plate nine. Some page corners have been turned. Occasional inner hinge repair stitches to the odd gathering. A little bit of dust soiling to the title page. The odd scattered soil mark and the odd scattered fox mark. The front board shaken but holding. A good plus first edition copy in a custom made mid to late clamshell box.…

Description de la boutique

Trumpington Fine Books Limited has been in business for a number of years. We specialize in all books of distinction whether they be modern collectable first editions, monographs or books of reference, fine bindings or antiquarian. Or just simple affordable books, which we believe are of merit. We focus on describing our books thoroughly and aim to make each customer satisfied with their purchase. 'What it says on the tin'....is what should be in the tin. We also take great care in the packaging of our books - we virtually never have a complaint about books being damaged in transit and we aim to uphold this - despite the fact that it is considerably more expensive on time and materials (and thus money) to pack books well. We try and make our books as affordable as possible and we recognize that times are hard. We have many repeat customers and we are delighted to have them as they only confirm the above. On the rare occasion that things do go wrong, we will try very hard to rectify any problems. We are able to bulk purchase through Royal Mail and aim to make no money out of postage - in point of fact, after taking into account the cost of packaging materials, we take a loss on postage - all our discounts are passed on to the customer. In our business we will endeavour to always uphold the customer. So in short, buy with confidence! Testimonial from Jose in Spain who recently bought some books from us : THE BOOKS HAVE ARRIVED IN PERFECT ORDER AND WITH THE EXPECTED QUALITY. YOU PACK FOR WAR! THANK YOU. LOOK FORWARD TO DEALING WITH YOU AGAIN SOON. BEST WISHES JOSE and we look forward to his next point of contact with us.…
