A propos de cet article
A Gothic crime novel set in Victorian England. One of 4,050 copies. Jacket art and illustrations by Stephen Fabian. Joshi, Eighty Years of Arkham House, 151. Jaffrey, The Arkham House Companion, 158. First edition (stated). A fine copy in a very near fine dust jacket. With the Lovecraft-inspired letterpress bookplate of the James Strand estate on the front pastedown. This copy came from the important Arkham House collection assembled by James Strand of Portland, Oregon. After his death, in August 2023, his house was looted and most of his books were stolen. Some were subsequently recovered by the FBI. This book was among those not taken by thieves.
