The New Decameron (Third Volume), Basil Blackwell, 1922, First Edition, First Impression The Third Volume of this book containing 10 short stories by Compton Mackenzie, D.H. Lawrence and V. Sackville-West amongst others. The first two volumes told of the departure from London of a party of men and women on an unconventional tour of Europe under the guidance of Mr. Hector Turpin, organiser and inventor of Turpin's Temperamental Tours. The members of the party formed the habit of telling stories at suitable moments of their journey and ten tales each day were told. The second volume ended with fearsome and terrific happenings and the stories in this book relate to the sequel to those events. Collectable and quite rare. This is a First Edition, First Impression in fair condition. The binding is straight and tight. The boards are marked and the title paper on the spine is worn. There is nibbling to the corners of the boards and shelf wear to the top and bottom edges of the spine. Split in fabric only on spine rear edge. The toned end papers and rough cut pages are free from marks or tears. There is a booksellers plate on the rear of the front board. Will be despatched wrapped in bubblewrap and in a cardboard box.
