Full repaired leather binding in calf with gilt titles to a red leather label to the spine, gilt decorated compartments, nicely patinated calf boards, repaired to the spine with original spine laid on. VOL I ONLY. NO ILLUSTRATIONS. Pagination: iv, 288pp, and 1 folding engraved plate at the rear. Provenance: no inscriptions or bookplates. Approximately 7 inches tall (18cm). Condition Report Externally Spine good condition repaired, rubbed and worn with minor loss, gilt titles to a red label, five gilt bands with six gilt decorated compartments. Joints good condition repaired, sound, rubbed and worn. Corners good condition bumped and worn. Boards good condition calf leather boards with marks and rubbing. Page edges good condition top edge darkened, all edges tanned. See above and photos. Internally Hinges good condition sound, repaired. Paste downs good condition new. End papers good condition new. Title good condition tanned. Pages good condition closed tear to page 1 without loss, no illustrations, tanned with some foxing. Binding good condition sound.
