Nine engraved plates follow text. Author was a student at the École Polytechnique and an officer in the Royal Artillery. He compiled this work in England for "scientific purposes." His observations were based on the operations of the Liverpool and Manchester Railway. Analyzes every aspect of locomotive operations. Covers rubbed, scuffed, and soiled. Paper spine label chipped.
