A propos de cet article

Halstead, Bruce W. Poisonous and Venomous Marine Animals of the World. Volume Three: Vertebrates Continued. With sections on chemistry by Donovan A. Courville. Washington, D.C.: United States Government Printing Office, 1970. First edition of the third and final volume of Halstead's monumental reference work on poisonous and venomous marine animals. Large quarto hardcover, 1006 pages, extensively illustrated throughout with monochrome photographs, drawings, diagrams and numerous colour plates. Volume Three continues the treatment of vertebrates and includes material on sharks and rays, catfishes, weeverfishes, scorpionfishes, toadfishes and other fishes, together with marine reptiles and mammals. Contemporary Abe bibliographical records confirm the 1970 Volume Three pagination and contents. Original green/aqua cloth boards with black cloth spine, gilt spine lettering and fish motif to upper board. Condition: Very good overall. Boards remain clean and attractive, with slight age-related rubbing and surface wear, several small marks to the spine and a small crease/bump to the upper corner. Minor wear is visible at the extremities. Internally very good, with clean, firmly bound pages and the numerous illustrations and colour plates particularly well preserved. No dust jacket present. A substantial specialist reference work on marine zoology, toxicology and biotoxicology, and an attractive original 1970 volume rather than the later condensed or revised editions. Approximately 3.6kg before packing; additional postage will be required because of the size and weight. condition statement Very Good. Slight rubbing and surface wear to boards and spine, with a few small marks and a minor bump/crease to the upper corner.
