This first edition, three volume work is David Ramsay's History of The United States, from their First Settlement as English Colonies. The work was published in Philadelphia in 1818 by M. Carey and Son.The books are bound in half Morocco over marbled boards, spines gilt lettered with 5 raised bands. The work details the initial years of the United States.David Ramsay (1749-1815) was an American writer, physician, public official, and historian from Charleston, South Carolina. He is considered one of the first major historians of the American Revolution. --- The work is in very good to excellent condition overall. The corners are a bit rubbed. There is some light staining.
