A propos de cet article

First edition, first printing. A K Peters, Ltd., 2007. Hardcover. xxI + 762 pages. ISBN 978-1-56881-272-4. Kevin G. Suffern’s Ray Tracing from the Ground Up is a substantial and highly detailed guide to the theory and practical implementation of ray tracing, taking the reader through the construction of a modern ray tracer from scratch in C++. Beginning with ray tracer design, essential mathematics and basic rendering techniques, Suffern progressively introduces increasingly sophisticated subjects including sampling, geometric objects, lighting, shading, reflection, transparency, meshes, procedural textures and advanced rendering techniques. The extensive treatment combines theoretical explanation with hundreds of diagrams, rendered images and programming examples, making the book suitable both as an academic text for undergraduate and graduate computer graphics courses and as a practical reference for programmers wishing to understand the foundations of physically convincing computer-generated imagery. An increasingly uncommon copy of the original 2007 A K Peters hardcover edition, rather than one of the later editions/reissues. Goodreads rating: 4.21/5 (24 ratings at time of listing). Includes bibliographical references and index. ⸻ AbeBooks Condition Description Very Good. Original 2007 A K Peters hardcover edition. Binding firm and square and page block clean. Description de la boutique

Welcome to my carefully curated collection of second-hand, vintage and collectible books, based in Leuven, Belgium. I am a private bookseller and lifelong book lover with a particular interest in unusual, distinctive and hard-to-find titles. My collection is eclectic and includes literature, philosophy, history, art and design, film and cultural studies, science, psychology, travel, Belgian and European history, vintage editions, illustrated books and other specialist non-fiction. I particularly enjoy finding books that deserve to be rediscovered: overlooked editions, unusual publications, books on niche subjects and attractive older volumes that may be difficult to find in ordinary bookshops. Every book offered here is individually inspected. I aim to describe editions and condition carefully and honestly, including significant signs of age, wear, inscriptions, missing components or other imperfections whenever applicable. Photographs show the actual book whenever possible. Books are stored with care and securely packaged for shipping. I am happy to sell internationally and welcome collectors, researchers and readers from around the world. If you have a question about an edition, its condition, contents or additional photographs, please feel free to contact me through AbeBooks. Thank you for browsing my collection, and I hope you find a book here that has been waiting for exactly the right reader. A note about our shipping rates At The Second Chapter, we know that international shipping costs can sometimes seem high, particularly for destinations outside Belgium and neighbouring countries. We deliberately use reliable, traceable shipping with Track & Trace whenever possible. This is important for both you as the buyer and us as the bookseller: your order can be followed throughout its journey, and there is clear confirmation that the parcel has been delivered. Many of the books we offer are scarce, collectible, out-of-print or otherwise difficult to replace. For that reason, we prefer not to send valuable books using cheaper untracked postal services, where neither buyer nor seller can reliably determine what has happened if a parcel is delayed or lost. Our shipping charges therefore reflect the actual cost of secure postal shipment from Belgium (Bpost) rather than being used as an additional source of profit. We always package books carefully to protect them during their journey, and we aim to combine safe packaging, reliable delivery and transparent shipping costs. If you are interested in a book but feel that the quoted shipping cost to your country is unusually high, please feel free to contact us before ordering. Where the book’s weight, dimensions, value and destination allow it, we will gladly check whether a less expensive reliable shipping option is available. Thank you for supporting The Second Chapter and for giving pre-loved books another chapter in their story.…
