First edition, first printing, published in 1967 by Houghton Mifflin. This US edition is the true first edition of this book, printed a year before the George Allen & Unwin edition. It has red covers with gilt decoration, and is printed on a slightly darker tone of paper to the UK edition. Unclipped dust jacket with a crease down the length of the back panel, also some minor bruising to the spine ends, otherwise quite smart, and in a removable protective wrapper. Red covers with bright gilt titles plus decoration to the front, with gilt and black letters to the spine, a bump to the top fore edge corner, spine ends lightly bruised, securely bound. Clean, smart pages, no inscriptions. Very good condition.
