First Edition. [1]-198, 203-207, [1] pages. Complete. 8vo. Original blue printed wrappers. Pages 199-202 (not present in this export edition of the catalog) contains Ophthalmic Instruments made by American Optical. Includes the catalogue, pricelist and ERRATA sheet (not usually present). The pricelist is dated 1946 but the catalogue is undated. This catalog was offered by Bruxelles scientific instrument distributor "Andre Van Hopplynus de Cock" with their sticker affixed to front wrapper. Also laid in are a four page brochure highlighting several features of a particular microscope configuration, a letter dated Feb 1949 addressed to "Mijnheer De Studieprefect" and a single page on the pricing for the "School Microscoop "SPENCER", all in the Dutch language. Also laid in are an English language brochure (24 pages stapled) "Price List for Complete Catalog Spencer Scientific-Instruments", dated Dec. 1, 1946; "Errata" for the same; a four page brochure (in English) for "The Spencer Microfilm Reader" stamped by the Bruxelles distributor on the last page; and finally a hand-written index card titled "Calibration of Objective Lenses using B&L 12.5x Filar Micrometer Eyepiece. All items have expected wear from use and are still viable for that same use today. Wrappers. A nice grouping of material for the Spencer/AO enthusiast. Dutch language material isn't often seen in the market. Useful for the collector and historian of these instruments. It allows the practitioner to determine what accessories were supposed to be present with the instrument as manufactured, specifications, etc. Many nice illustrations as well.
