A propos de cet article

Boston:Ticknor & Fields, 1866. The April 21, 1866 issue (Vol. I, No. 16) of Every Saturday. 10 1/2" x 7", newsprint wraps, 28 pp. + ads. Just Good; notable spine slit, edge wear, some foxing, and light pencil notations on covers. See scans. Minimal age toning. Supple. A somewhat tattered, yet still robust solid copy. An extraordinarily scarce original wraps copy of (the sixteenth issue in the history of) Every Saturday, a literary journal which is found, when it is found, almost always as six-monthly hardbound aggregations. Here, though she is not named and credited only as "The Author of John Halifax" (which had not yet been officially published at the time), Dinah Maria Mulock Craik - the "Miss Mulock" author of the Halifax title - offers "Misery Mongers". Some now-quaint and curious ads at the end. A piece of history. L-ES1.…
