The first edition. Both in the publisher's original cloth. Complete in two volumes. Volume one contains five coloured folding maps/plans. With geographical and infrastructural reports on Birmingham, Liverpool, Bath and Bristol. With maps of London, Bristol, and Bath.Collated, complete. Volume two contains twenty-one fold-out plates illustrative of the principles of ventilation, along with three diagrams; one map of the city of Exeter, and one fold-out diagram showing its mortality rate. Collated, complete. With a geographical and infrastructural focus this time on towns in the Northern coal mine district, such as Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, Lancaster, Nottingham, and York, and several in the South (Exeter, Salisbury, Portsmouth). In the publisher's original cloth. Externally, generally smart with shelf wear to the extremities. With bumping to spine head and tails. Marginal fading to cloth boards and fading to spines. The odd mark to the boards. Front joint cracked and torn to volume one, at both head and tail. Text block and binding materials revealed underneath. Front board still attached. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean but toned. Good.…
