Pages remain clear with minimal tanning and foxing. Binding remains firm. Boards have mild edge wear with slight rubbing to surfaces. Mild crushing to spine ends. Board corners are bumped. The Tang dynasty is considered to be the golden age in the arts and culture of China, in power from 618 to 906 AD. The present volume is part of 'The Wisdom of East Series,' which published the first collection of poems from the T'ang dynasty in 19040 following a collection which appeared in the eighteenth century, compiled by a Chinese scholar. This volume comprises a further selection of those beautiful, tender, and humorous poems, the first edition of this work. An uncommonly bright copy in the like dust wrapper, unclipped. In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally excellent with minor shelf wear only and a minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine. The dust wrapper is unclipped and very smart with only minor shelf wear and a touch of sunning to the spine, a minor chipping to the head and tail of the spine.
