With separate title-page for 'A Full Relation of the Passages Concerning the Treaty for A Peace Begun at Uxbridge, January 30. 1644: Being an Appendix to the History of the Late Troubles in England.' As well as 'His Majesties Answers to Certain Papers, Delivered in top his Commissioners at Uxbridge, upon the Close of the Treaty: One Concerning the Militia, and Two Concerning Ireland, to which (Being Long, and Coming in so near the Breaking up of the Treaty) No Answers Could then be Given.' Rebound in attractive brown half calf with raised bands and gilt, red leather title strip to spine, and marbled paper boards. New endpapers uncracked at gutters. Printed at the Theater for Moses Pitt at the Angel in St. Paul's Church-Yard. Author's name handwritten onto title page as originally published anonymously (it was reissued under Dugdale's name the same year), handwritten notes on pages 8 and 118 (the latter with water stain). Pagination misprinted on pp420,643,787,790,917,937 with several having the correct number marked in pencil next the misprint. Pale grey/brown discoloration to many pages, usually to part of lower half, but no loss of paper. Very Good condition other than the text discoloration. The binding is attractive and in fine condition. Dugdale's last major work, which 'traced the course of the dissensions that grew into civil war' (ODNB). ESTC R18097. Robust packaging.
