A propos de cet article

Washington: Gales and Seaton, 1840. 8vo, 45 p., original sewn wraps. First edition of this abolitionist pamphlet by the American Whig and Anti Masonic governor. Slade was one of the most outspoken opponents of slavery in the House, and argued against gag rules imposed by the House on discussion of the topic. Signatures loose, with many leaves uncut; minor tearing to outer margins, with type a little battered and faded, but a VG copy overall.
