Sm8vo., xvi, fold-out map of England, 433pp. Very good first edition book, no dust jacket. Dark green cloth covered boards. Front panel and spine have stamped tri-color images of an English town with towered buildings and trees, and stamped gilt lettering. Upper external page edges are gilt. Board panels are scuffed. Edges and corners at head and tail of board spine are rubbed and with fraying on the corners. Very small rub-throughs on fore-edge corner tips. Cream and green illustrated end-papers. Previous owner's information on FFEP. Inside hinge is cracked at the list of The Spell Series page and verso to the frontispiece. Color frontispiece with tissue-guard. Fold-out map of England in cream and green, at beginning of text; closed diagonal tear has been repaired with archival tape. Numerous full pages of b&w photographs. Text pages are age-toned. Text block is lightly shaken due to the cracked hinge mentioned above. Please use close-up options for best inspection and in support of condition descriptions.
