A comic novel by William Boyd. First edition. Held in original unclipped dustwrapper. This novel follows a shy Englishman, Henderson Dores, and his uprooting of his life and moving to New York City. This novel is based on the 1988 film under the same name directed by Pat O'Connor. The film stars Daniel Day-Lewis as Dores. William Boyd is a Scottish novelist and Screenwriter. He is best known for his notable novel 'A Good Man In Africa'. It was his first novel and won both the Whitbread Book Award and the Somerset Maugham Award. In publisher's cloth binding and held in original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, excellent with minor shelfwear. Dustwrapper is also in excellent condition with very little shelfwear. Small ink mark to the recto of front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are slightly age toned to edges but are otherwise bright and clean. Fine. N° de réf. du vendeur MOD14-I-4
