The Stones of Venice Volume 2: The Sea stories. London: Smith, Elder & Co. 1853. First edition. This book is absolutely clean and unmarked. There is little to no foxing to be found anywhere, only a little bit in the last third of the book and then in the advertisements at the end but overall extremely clean. The gilt top edge remains strong, there is some moderate sunning to the spine but all the gilt still presents beautifully. There is small area of some separation at the bottom the foot of the spine as pictured. The binding is strong and supple. A very nice and very readable example.
