A propos de cet article

Hardcover, no dust jacket as issued. First edition thus with single publication date of 1869 appearing on the title and copyright page. Purple cloth boards blind stamped on front and rear, gilt on spine. Dark brown end pages with front pastedown showing a bookplate from the J.S.D. "Incleside" 1870. No information has been found on a ship by this name. No other markings found on pages. Exterior cloth boards show heavy sunning along spine plus a spot on the front board. Spine also shows evidence of where a label once was. Possible ex-library from a 19th century ship, which seems unusual considering the subject of the book. Book condition graded as good. See photos.
