London: Cresset Press, 1957. First UK Edition. Octavo; illustrated dust jacket; red cloth boards stamped in gilt; dark topstain; 265pp. Price-clipped dust jacket shows light wear; a few stray closed tears and spots; abrasion from a sticker to front panel; spine sunned with pinprick near top echoing through to cloth. Boards shelfworn with minor soiling to spine. Binding sound; off-setting to endpapers and glue discoloration to front hinge, interior unmarked. A Very Good copy of the scarce first Ripley novel, basis for the 1999 film.
