Vol.#4 in the second Tom Swift series, which was comprised of 33 volumes written under the pseudonym Victor Appleton II. One of the original blue tweed cloth-covered books with wrap-around pictorial DJs, this is a true FIRST EDITION, first printing, listing to itself in front matter & on back DJ cover, with self summary on front DJ flap & summary of TS#3 on rear flap. In 211 pages with a plain frontispiece & blue/white endpapers by illustrator Graham Kaye. Book condition is Near Fine: exceptionally clean & bright, binding straight & strong, hinges intact, pages creamy white with very mild dust dulling to outside edges, but unmarked. The unclipped DJ is VG, with only mild edgewear, the worst of which is chipping to both ends of spine, worst at top; nicely protected in new mylar cover Free!
