A propos de cet article

The Truman Show: The Shooting Script. Screenplay by Andrew Niccol — Introduction by Peter Weir. Newmarket Press, New York, June 1998 — First Edition / First Printing (ISBN 978-1-557-04367-2) Book Condition: Very Good. Trade paperback; 168 pages; Newmarket Press Shooting Script series. Covers crisp and bright with light edge wear and rubbing only, presenting as fine chips or dents; spine uncreased — a genuine strength. Pages clean and unmarked with light uniform age-toning. No ownership markings, stamps, price stickers, or remainder marks. First edition, first printing confirmed by full number line. A well-preserved copy. Edition / Printing Notes First edition, first printing; Newmarket Press, New York; published June 1, 1998; ISBN 978-1-557-04367-2; 168 pages; Newmarket Press Shooting Script series. Includes: the complete 107-page shooting script reproduced in facsimile; a photo album section by Andrew Niccol with photographs and captions; Peter Weir's intricately detailed "backstory" written during pre-production and shared with the cast and crew; and complete cast and crew credits. Andrew Niccol is a New Zealander who wrote The Truman Show before turning his hand to directing; Gattaca, also an original Niccol screenplay, was his feature film directing debut. Academy Award nominee Peter Weir previously directed Witness, Dead Poets' Society, Picnic at Hanging Rock, Gallipoli, The Year of Living Dangerously, The Mosquito Coast, and Fearless. Jim Carrey is Truman Burbank, the most famous face on television — only he doesn't know it. He is the unwitting star of a nonstop, 24-hour-a-day documentary soap opera called The Truman Show, with every moment of his life broadcast to a worldwide audience. Everyone around him is an actor. He is a prisoner in a made-for-TV paradise. This is the story of his escape. Named the year's best movie by both Time and Entertainment Weekly on its release, The Truman Show is one of the defining films of the 1990s — prescient, wickedly intelligent, and more culturally relevant with every passing year. This shooting script volume offers something not found in theatres: Weir's hilarious and detailed backstory, which he actually hired Harry Shearer to help create as a mockumentary during production. A near-fine first printing of an essential document in contemporary cinema history, in exceptional condition. …

Description de la boutique

My late wife and I spent a lot of time accumulating books, especially during COVID. With her gone, the books are a reminder of her. Hence, it's time for me to Turn the Page. Update: Please note I have recently moved to New Mexico (September 2026) where our chihuahua, Pedro, will no longer have to slog through snow and ice - the state where my beloved wife and his mommy lived before we met. Thank you for all your orders since opening this storefront!
