Item description from seller

From the early years of the Silver Age of comics, issue No. 6 in the original run of Turok under the Dell publishing banner, appearing as a regular quarterly comic, with a publishing date of December 1956 - February 1957. This issue features the typical painted cover that stood Turok apart from many other comics, and contains the graphic Turok stories "The Giant Ape" and "The Stick Thrower", along with "Lotor" ( a short 4-page graphic feature about a raccoon surviving life with dinosaurs) and a 1-page text story called "Aknet Becomes A Man". Consists of 32 newsprint pages plus covers, saddle-stitched. Condition: The front and back covers contain a number of minor creases from handling and several long vertical creases running almost paralell to the spine, but edgewear is absent from both covers. Cover colors remain bright. Page tips are softened but not rounded. Bottom edge of the spine (1/8 inch) is bumped and wrinkled. The large white areas in the Trix cereal ad on the back cover have accumulated some soiling, most heavily along the spine and edges. In addition, a small (1/16-inch deep) area 1 inch long is missing from the left edge of the BC. (See photos of covers.) Pages have browned at the edges, but remain supple and firm. Page margins show light toning. Cover and staples are tight. There's a slight spine roll at the top of the spine. Conservatively graded VG/F (5.0), based on the grading standards in the 51st Edition of Overstreet (2021-2022), pp 212-215. Comes in an archival Mylar sleeve with archival backing board.

Description de la boutique

Netherworld Books is an online seller dealing in rare and out-of-print fanzines, comics, magazines, paperbacks and hardcover books, mainly in the science fiction and fantasy fields. Because we deal only in collectibles, all items are carefully packed and shipped in sturdy boxes or heavily reinforced packaging to ensure full protection during transit. We insure all items and always provide tracking. Orders are mailed on Monday (if holiday, Tuesday), Wednesday and Friday. OUR PHILOSOPHY: We grew up haunting bricks-and-mortar bookstores, and we try to replicate as much of that experience here as possible. Our descriptions are always detailed and informational (as if you were talking to the proprietor face-to-face) and we always provide multiple pictures of our items, so you can feel as if you're actually examining an item you've taken off the shelf and are holding in your hand. We hope you enjoy the visit ... and find something of interest before you leave.
