This beautifully illustrated book traces the development of the University of Winchester, from its foundation as the Diocesan Training School for schoolmasters for the Anglican dioceses of Winchester and Salisbury in 1840 to the present. The narrative is enhanced by personal accounts by students, staff and others associated with the University in its guises as Winchester Training College, King Alfred's College, University College Winchester and University of Winchester.
