Included are dates of creation and discontinuance, composition, organizational changes, commanders' names, and numerous details on the geographical boundaries of divisions. The book's final section gives the orders of battle and detailed itineraries of all major units during all campaigns, major battles, and notable "engagements, expeditions, raids, and reconnaissances."
