Inscribed by the author to the flyleaf, dated 22 March 35.Walter Kolbenhoff [real name Walter Hoffman 1908-93] was a German communist writer, who of course had to clash with the Nazi party: In 1933 he fled to Denmark (along with his friend Wilhelm Reich) and continued writing anti-Nazi novels, such as this. The book is inscribed to his Danish friend Frode Jacobsen [1906-97], who helped Germans out of the Germany before World War II, and kept fighting the Germans as a central figure in the Danish resistance.
