Illustrated by Howard Giles. Published by Harper & Brothers, New York, 1915. 8vo. 131pp. First edition. Very good plus book in very good plus dust jacket. Black cross-grain cloth covered boards with gilt-stamped elegant decoration and lettering on front panel, gilt lettering on spine. Upper external edges are gilt. Boards are clean, lettering and decorations are crisp. Minimal rubs on corners at head and tail of board spine. Bump on upper fore-edge corner of back panel. Previous owner's name/date on FFEP. Frontispiece is full color with tissue-guard. 16 additional illustrations with pastel tinting. Side external edges are untrimmed. Text margins have an occasional faint smudge. Text block is snug. Dust jacket is soiled overall, spine is stained and sunned. All folds are creased and scuffed. Edges at head and tail of jacket spine are chipped and corners are rubbed. All fore-edge corners have loss from rubs. Creasing along upper and lower edges in general. Reverse side of jacket has two old tape repairs on the lower back fore-edge corner and the front corner at tail of spine. All inside flap corners are uniformly clipped.
