Rostow served during WWII in the Office of Strategic Services; later he became chairman of the U.S. State Department's policy planning council. Walt Whitman Rostow OBE was an American economist, professor and political theorist who served as national security advisor to president of the United States Lyndon B. Johnson from 1966 to 1969. The "seventh floor" ref is to foggy bottom at Truman bldg: United States Department of State is responsible for the country's foreign policy and relations. Equivalent to the ministry of foreign affairs of other nations, its primary duties are advising the U.S. president on international relations, administering diplomatic missions, negotiating international treaties and agreements, and representing the U.S. at the United Nations. The department is headquartered in the Harry S Truman Building, a few blocks from the White House, in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood of Washington, D.C.; "Foggy Bottom" is thus sometimes used as a metonym.- Wiki./ASSOCIATION; Edward Moore Kennedy aka Teddy (1932 2009) was an American lawyer and politician who served as a United States senator from Massachusetts as a member of the Democratic Party and the prominent Kennedy family. Kennedy was the younger brother of President John F. Kennedy and U.S. attorney general and U.S. senator Robert F. Kennedy, and the father of U.S. representative Patrick J. Kennedy. After attending Harvard University and earning his law degree from the University of Virginia, Kennedy won a November 1962 special election in Massachusetts to fill the vacant seat previously held by his brother John, who had taken office as the U.S. president. He was elected to a full six-year term in 1964 and was re-elected seven more times. The Chappaquiddick incident in 1969 resulted in the death of his automobile passenger, Mary Jo Kopechne. He pleaded guilty to a charge of leaving the scene of an accident and received a two-month suspended sentence. He ran in 1980 in the Democratic primary campaign for president, but lost to Jimmy Carter./ Virginia Joan Bennett Kennedy (born 1936) was the first wife of U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy. In October 1957, at the dedication of a gymnasium in memory of another Kennedy sister, Kathleen who had died in a plane crash in France in 1948 Jean Kennedy Smith introduced Joan to her younger brother Edward (a.k.a. Ted/Teddy), and the couple became engaged quickly. Joan grew nervous about marrying someone she did not know well but Joe Kennedy insisted that the wedding should proceed, and they were married on November 29, 1958 just a few weeks after Ted's older brother U.S. Senator John F. Kennedy won his landslide re-election for his US Senate seat representing MA in 1958. Joan had three children with Ted Kennedy: Kara Kennedy (19602011), Edward M. Kennedy Jr. (Ted Jr.) (b. 1961), and Patrick J. Kennedy (b. 1967).-WIKI/Signded to Joan and Teddy [Kennedy dated May 20, 1964]/. Inscribed by Author(s). N° de réf. du vendeur abe240813b10000
