We guarantee the condition of every book as it's described on the Abebooks web sites. If your purchase was damaged in shipping please notify us as quickly as possible via email. A photo will be appreciated so we may understand the damage. Damaged books will be replaced upon the return of the the damaged book.

If the order has not arrived in the time estimated, especially if the book was shipped outside of the USA, please allow an additional 2-3 weeks. Some locations do not fall into the best time estimates offered. If not delivered within that time, please check first with your local Postal Office. We often encounter a delay or hold on these books because of their value and/or the resistance to leave an unattended package at the final location. Take the Tracking Number with you to the Postal Office. It is generated in the shipping of your book and can be requested from us if you did not receive it in an email, and inquire at your local Postal Office if they are holding a package with that number.

You're eligible to return the book(s) within 14 days of the estimated delivery date, but the book must be in the same, new, condition as received. If the wrapper that seals each new book has been removed, the return will incur an 'opened book return fee' of 15%, and does not including the cost of shipping. The return shipping fee is not refunded with returned books.

Please contact us with any issue or question you may have. If you've changed your mind about a book that you have just ordered, please use the Ask bookseller a question link to contact us and we will respond within 24 hours of your order to provide you with a return authorization (RA) number. Please write the RA number on the outside of the box near the shipping label.

Information regarding the right of withdrawal

Statutory right to withdraw

You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. If you are a consumer you can withdraw from the contract in accordance with the following...

• The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the last good or the last lot or piece.
• To exercise the right of withdrawal, electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account".
• We will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a withdrawal on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.
• To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.

Effects of withdrawal

If you withdraw from this contract, you will need to return the books before a refund is issued. We will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the shipping you paid when purchasing the books, once the books are received in return. We may make a -15%, deduction, from the reimbursement for loss in value if the printer's plastic wrapping from the new books is removed, or if the books are damaged shows signs of unnecessary handling by you.

We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back. We will make the reimbursement once we are have received the books in return, or proof that the books have been shipped in return.

The reimbursement will be using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.

You shall send back the goods or hand them over to Hallmark Research Institute, 30765 Pacific Coast Highway #417, 90265, Malibu, California, U.S.A., without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.

Exceptions to the right of withdrawal

The right of withdrawal does not apply to:

1. The delivery of newspapers, journals or magazines with the exception of subscription contracts; and
2. The supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium (e.g. on a CD or DVD) if you accepted when you placed your order that we could start to deliver it, and that you could not withdraw once delivery had started.

Orders usually ship within 3 business days. Shipping costs are based on each book weighing 2.2 LB, or 1 KG. If your book order is heavier or over-sized, we may contact you to let you know extra shipping is required. All California sales will need to pay for the additional fees of applicable sales tax, currently at 10.25%.

Please note that books shipped abroad will incur additional delivery time and import/VAT fees. Please allow 2-3 additional weeks. If you have a VAT, Landing Fee, or other shipping numbers, please provide them to add to the custom's forms. If the delivery has not happened within the time estimated, track the package with the shipping or label number. If it has arrived in your location but has not progressed to delivery, take that tracking number to your local Postal Office. We often encounter a delay or hold of these books because of their high value and/or the resistance to leave an unattended package at the delivery location. If there is a customs hold on the package, contact the customs office to determine the reason for the hold. It often could be the VAT payment.
