A classic work of science fiction by one of the masters of the genre, and his first published work. It originally appeared in 1955 under the title Solar Lottery. Set in a world governed by a strange system in which a lottery is used to determine leaders and their assassins. This charming copy is the first thus, published in 1957 by Rich and Cowan s Science Fiction Book Club in London. There is one bruise to the spine and to the cover, but altogether an excellent copy.
