Illustrated. 330 pages. With chapters contributed by W. J. MacGeagh, W. G. Van Tassel Sutphen, and Miss Amy Pascoe. For many years, Garden Smith was the editor of the highly regarded and widely read British magazine, Golf Illustrated. He authored and compiled several golf books and in Joseph S. F. Murdoch's words, was "an important contributor to the literature of the game." Befitting its title, there are chapters on Continental Golf, Golf in America, London Golf, Irish Links, and many Scottish venues. This is an incredibly well-preserved copy. No damage, discoloration or fading to the pebbled green cloth, titled and decorated in gilt. These covers are protected in a fitted clear casing. There is slight pastedown offset and offset from the tissue guard affecting the title page but not the photograph it protects of Old Tom Morris and a group of golfing dignitaries in front of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club clubhouse in St. Andrews. Otherwise a beautifully clean copy. No bookplate nor markings nor damage of any kind. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. N° de réf. du vendeur 201256
