A propos de cet article

London, Sampson Low, Marston & Co, 1918. First edition. Landscape octavo. [110], 24pp, 308pp, 24pp, 76pp, 105pp, 14pp. Numerous photographic vignette illustrations throughout the text. Occasionally extra-illustrated with a number of coloured post cards and other coloured illustrations presumably cut from books depicting specific aircraft, pasted onto the margins of the pages where those aircraft are described. 110 pages of advertisements precede the main text. Each section of the text (An Aeronautical Dictionary and Memoranda, Aeroplanes of the World, Airships of the World, Aero-Engines of the World and Historical Aeroplanes of the Last Fourteen Years) with separate paginations. As is standard ‘Jane’s’ format, the text is sectioned by country in alphabetical order. A very detailed overview of the world’s aircraft 4 years into the First World War, encompassing 4 years of continued technical innovation in their military use. Bound in the original publisher’s blue cloth, lettered in silver on the front cover and spine. Minor loss to the lettering on the front cover and with all of the lettering on the spine now missing. Moderate ‘bubbling’ and some creasing to the cloth covering on the front and rear covers. Hinges a little rubbed and the top of the spine slightly frayed and torn. First 2 pages of advertisements chipped at their foredges and with the first page of advertisements crudely glued to the verso of the front cover at its gutter edge. Otherwise, a clean copy with the text block sound and the binding in good condition. Further photographs available on request. NB The price of this item is variable dependent on your chosen payment method. Please feel free to make contact for further information on this item or on payment options. Description de la boutique

I sell a small but diverse selection of mainly non-fiction antiquarian books online via ABE and also on Ebay under the trading name of N1.Books-and-Photographs. I tend to specialise in illustrated books, books on history, architecture, the applied arts, crafts and sciences but there are usually a few titles amongst my stock that stray into other fields. I am also a trained, working book restorer with over 30 years experience and am happy to quote on any book restoration project. You can see many examples of my work at www.sussexbookrestoration.co.uk and you are welcome to contact me via the link at that website should you have a book that may be in need of restoration or repair.…
