A propos de cet article

First edition, 8vo, pp. xii, [4], 127, [1]; map, frontispiece and 8 illustrations from photographs, tables in the text; fine copy in a near fine dust jacket. "The first ethnological study - based on extra ordinarily intimate knowledge gained in the field - of the Marri Baluch, a nomadic and mixed farming tribe of West Pakistan. Professor Pehrson, a brilliant young anthropologist, died in the field while studying the Marri tribe. Fredrik Barth, who is Professor of Social Anthropology in the University of Bergen, Norway, has authoritatively edited Pehrson's notes after completing his own field work" (jacket blurb).…
