A propos de cet article

Official Sligo Rovers match programme, season 1994/95, No. 24, £1.00. Sligo Rovers v Shelbourne, Bord Gáis National League Premier Division, the Showgrounds, Wednesday 12 April 1995, kick-off 7.30pm. 'The Bit o' Red', described on the cover as an award-winning matchday magazine, with the banner 'F.A.I. Cup Winners, First Division Champions, Shield Winners 1993/94'. The club directory names the player/manager as LAWRIE SANCHEZ ? who scored Wimbledon's winning goal in the 1988 FA Cup final and later managed Northern Ireland and Fulham. His 'Inside View' on page 3 opens: 'Football can be a cruel game at times. It can lead you from the heights of elation to the depths of depression all in the course of four days.' He is proud of a second half that nearly recovered the tie, and blunt about the finances ? without gate money 'we could lose players to other League of Ireland clubs. A galling prospect!' The standout page is the complete 'Sligo Rovers Fixtures & Results 1994/95', from 22 July through to 7 May: the whole league season, the FAI Cup run, and the club's EUROPEAN CUP WINNERS' CUP campaign ? Floriana of Malta home and away, then CLUB BRUGGE. One page holding an entire European season. Chairman Ray Gallagher; club captain Gavin Dykes; edited by Tommy Horan. Sixteen pages. Description de la boutique

Pigeonhouse Books is a private Dublin archive of the unusual and the hard-to-find. We specialise in bringing to market items that have never before appeared for sale to online book-lovers. Volumes such as low-circulation Irish local histories, programmes for seminal theatrical performances, influential 20th century political pamphlets, and important government and agency literature of enormous value to researchers have been dispatched to every corner of the globe with love and care from Dublin. Pigeonhouse Books also maintains a familiar and popular presence at local book fairs in Ireland, where some of the rarest and most interesting volumes from Irish history and literature are selected from our shelves. Customers often find it convenient to collect their orders from us at these events in person, where a rummage among our boxes and some book-chat are features of the book-fair scene. Details are announced in advance on www.pigeonhousebooks.com. Pigeonhouse Books was founded by journalist and historian Ruraidh Conlon O'Reilly and operates from the city centre of Dublin, UNESCO city of literature.
