A propos de cet article

London, Longmans, Green, and Co., 1930. Large 8vo (26.0 x 17.5 cm). 60 pp.; four text figures, five plates; table. Original printed wrappers. = An important but seldom-seen paper by the British zoologist, invertebrate anatomist and formerly curator of the Discovery Investigations collections, Helène Elizabeth Bargmann (1896-1987), who is not listed in 2,400 Years of Malacology. " In the bombing of London, she was responsible for the transfer of the 25,000 glass jars of specimens in the collections from the museum to a place of safety in the Duke of Wellington's country house in Hampshire." (Brown). Published in the Journal of the Linnean Society, volume 37(250). The whole volume, with its wrappers. Two smaller, unrelated papers in the rear. Spine ends slightly worn, otherwise a very good, clean, and unmarked copy. Rare in this condition, as this journal is usually found bound, and/or with library markings. S. G. Brown (1987) Obituary.
