Letter signed, one page - with intergral blank leaf, 5,25 x 8 inch, blind-embossed `N` with royal crown letterhead, Palais de Saint-Cloud (Paris), 10.01.1869, to Cardinal Lucien Bonaparte (1828-1895, son of Charles Lucien Bonaparte and his wife, Zénaïde Bonaparte) - Napoleon thanks for New Year wishes and is happy to learn that the Holy Father is willing to invoke divine protection upon his son, signed in dark ink "Napoléon", attractively mounted (removable) for display with a picture, shows Napoleon III. in a beautiful full length portrait (altogether 12 x 8,5 inch), with mild toning, and intersecting letter folds - in fine to very fine condition."Mon cher neveu, Je suis touché des voeux que vous formez à l`occasion de la nouvelle année pour le bonheur de l`impératrice, du Prince impérial et pour le mien.
