Contemporary full leather; scuffing/rubbing with slender wear at edges; spine's dulled maroon title label retains fairly bright gilt lettering. Stains and abrasions to toned text block edges. Remnant stubs of removed leaves still present between front pastedown and title so missing front free endpaper and front flyleaf and perhaps a half-title; no stubs at rear but likewise probably missing a rear flyleaf and free endpaper; some insect burrows at margins of rear leaves; top corner of pages 185-186 creased; varied foxing/toning and stains to interior leaves. Binding remains firm.
