"Very-good" book in a good dust jacket missing bottom inch-and-a-half of jacket spine. This book lists 31 Tom Swift titles (through "His Talking Pictures" (1928) to jacket front flap, but 32 through "His House on Wheels" (1929) to internal ads at rear. We count 11 "Radio Boys" through "Aiding the Snowbound" (1928) to jacket rear flap; jacket rear panel and internal ads both list seven Don Sturdys through "Among the Gorillas" (1927.) We'll presume a publication date of 1929. Unfortunately, it seems to have proven logistically impossible to haul along the always amusing "colored man" Eradicate Sampson and his recalcitrant mule to Earthquake Island, but Howard R. Garis (1873-1962) -- of Uncle Wiggily fame and here writing under the Appleton house name of the Stratemeyer Syndicate -- does manage to give him and the trusty "Boomerang" a brief introductory comic turn, delivering a telegram. Alas, no sign of Koku, the superstitious Samoan. 211 pp. Reduced from $37.

Boards soiled, ink name on front endpaper. 1911 Hard Cover. iv, 211, [8] pp. Tom Swift & friends decide to trial an experimental airship near the New Jersey coast, and are unexpectedly swept out to sea by hurricane winds. Unable to steer or navigate without tearing the airship apart, the hapless crew must simply let the storm take them wherever it will. Unfortunately, the storm proves too much for the craft and Tom makes a crash landing on the uninhabited and crumbling Earthquake Island.

Soft cover. Etat : Very Good. No Jacket. This hardcover book is square and tight. The boards and spine show minor wear to the edges and extremites. The gilt/lettering and illustrations are bright and legible, without significant loss. The pages are very mildly toned, having no markings or folds. The front board is a bit shaken but the hinge is complete and holding. There are several small bleached out spots on the spines lower half. Still a wonderful copy, attractive on the shelf, and with a nice "heft" in the hand. This title is not the last in the list opposite the table of contents, a later printing.
